StreamPlayer Gen III SE Highlights

Ultimate StreamPlayer

The StreamPlayer Gen III SE features a larger chassis that allows for maximum expandabilty. Standard builds include a 256GB SSD to hold the OS and Roon. A second 2TB (optional higher capacity HDD or SSD drives available) is dedicated to music storage. Add-on cards such as the SOtM tX-USB Audiophile PCI to USB card can be installed as well, making this the most versatile StreamPlayer yet!

Tidal and Qobuz Too!

Roon seamlessly integrates with both Tidal and Qobuz to provide you with instant access to millions of audio tracks streamed in CD quality.

You want to hear the music and nothing more. That's why we used a headless, fanless design. No fan noise, no mouse, nokeyboard!

Multiple Zones

With additional hardware, a single Generation III StreamPlayer can serve multiple Roon audio zones throughout the house. Zones can be grouped or operated individually with different music playing in each zone simultaneously. Each zone can also be operated with its own remote control app for total zone independence.

The Story

Larger format...

After receiving requests for multiple drives, the ability to accept add-on cards, an internal power supply and more, we decided to take the StreamPlayer Gen III to the next leve - to create a "special edition" StreamPlayer. The resulting larger chassis now accomodates mutliple drives. The OS and Roon are installed on a dedicated 256GB Solid State Drive. Standard internal music storage is via a 2TB hard drive. But this can be expanded with optional drives including a 4TB SSD for fast performance.

Expandability means you can add cards like the SOtM tX-USBexp Audiophile PCIe to USB Audio Card or others. And internal power supply with a detachable power cord means no power dongles!

Powerful Processor

Combine a Quad Core i7Core Intel processor, 32GB of memory and an operating system with Roon running on a ultra-fast SSD, and you have a system that provides lightning fast response times.

Roon, Tidal and Qobuz

Roon is pre-installed on the StreamPlayer Gen III. You are not required to use it, as the Gen III StreamPlayer has all the functionality of our Gen II version built in, as well. But it is there for you when you are ready. There is even a Roon trial period so you can explore its rich user interface and discover for yourself how it changes the way you explore music in fundamental ways. A word of warning though: Once you experience Roon's powerful and intuitive interface, you will never want to listen to music without it. It is that good.

If you subscribe to Tidal and/or Qobuz, things get even better. You can link your account to Roon and you'll have instant, seamless access to millions of CD-quality music tracks at your fingertips.

As you explore Tidal or Qobuz, you'll no doubt discover artists you were previously not familiar with. Or, you'll find tracks you loved in the past, but don't presently have in your library. In either case, you can add tracks to your local ROON library and access it as if it were stored right on your StreamPlayer. So from a user perspective, there is no difference between your personal music stored locally or that streamed from Tidal or Qobuz. That type of integration is as seamless as it gets.

The Roon Experience

There is always a learning curve acquainting yourself with any new user interface. But, in the case of Roon, the interface is so rich and intuitive, that learning curve is minimal. Once mastered, you will possess a powerful new tool that will expand your musical horizons and enhance the enjoyment of your entire audio system. And after all, isn't that why we share our passion for quality audio in the first place? Roon is your front end to a magical musical world.
